Kenneth Alston

Kenneth Alston grew up without any siblings in a single parent home. It was a daily struggle for his mother to make ends meet. He remembered times when he had to walk to school with holes in the bottom of his shoes and clothes that were at least three or four years old because his mother did not have enough money to buy the new expensive clothes many of the other children at school were wearing.  She was too busy putting food on the table and keeping a roof over their head.

Kenneth, like most boys in his circumstance, missed having a father figure to help guide him into manhood. But, thanks to the sacrifices and strength of his mother, Kevin focused on the positive side of life and how he could make a difference in the world.

Kenneth recently published his first book, a poetry novel called “The Way I See it.” In it, he shares some of the important lessons he has learned in life thus far. Kenneth feels his book is a start in turning things around not only for himself but also for his readers who are going through similar situations in their lives.  The book is written in a easy flowing style and the some of the poem titles include Growing Up, Religion, Beauty, My Conscience, The way it Should Be, Husband and Wife, Because Someone Didn’t Care, To Love a Woman, and many more.

I have learned many lessons in life,” Kenneth said, “The first is to treat people how you want them to treat you. Throughout my life I have learned how to be a man, and how a man should love his fellow human beings, including the woman in his life. It was once said that if a man finds a wife, he has found a good thing. I would like to take this one step further and add that if a woman has found a husband, she has also found a good thing because you both have the opportunity to bring the best out of each other.”

Here are what some readers have said about Kenneth’s new book:

Many of us have gone through similar relationships or trials and ups and downs. Very enjoyable reading."   Brian Howard
